Just because you are an Ironman doesn't mean you have to be a boring sporty nerd!!!
We can have a life too!
We all need to let loose and unwind and I certainly like to cut loose at the right time.
Ironman training is mentally tough and sometimes your brain needs to forget just
for a while so you can fully unwind before your next set of hard training.
Spending time with people who are not sporty is a great way of forgetting for a while,
going clubbing, drinking beer, buying music, going to a festival or going away
for the weekend are all great ways to unwind.
During this time do not wear sporty clothes and take your H.R. monitor off
wearing a non sporty watch. By the time you are due to return to hard training
you will feel refreshed and rejuvenated.
